Nunzia Ciardi, Deputy Director General of the National Cybersecurity Agency since September 16, 2021, was the first woman to lead the Postal and Communications Police, two thousand experts engaged in combating cyberterrorism, financial cybercrime, online child pornography, the protection of national critical IT infrastructures, hacking, and cybercrimes in general.

He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Permanent Observatory on Security and of the Scientific Committee of the Permanent Observatory on Educational Policies of EURISPES, as well as a member of the Council of Women4Cyber, an initiative launched by the European Cyber Security Organization (ECSO) to promote the involvement of women in the sector.

Author of the book Use Your Head with the Smartphone (Sperling & Kupfer, 2018), she is an ambassador for Telefono Rosa against violence towards women.

Winner of the “Inspiring Fifty 2021 Italy” award, granted by personalities from the entrepreneurial world, business, and academia to women who serve as “role models” in the technology sector. She received, on the occasion of the 35th edition of the Marisa Bellisario Award, the “Golden Apple” as recognition for women who make a difference with an exemplary managerial professional career in the world of institutions.
