The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Italy restarts, a completely free program implemented thanks to the partnership between the University of Naples Federico II and the United States Diplomatic Mission in Italy.
The goal of AWE is to support women and girls in creating and/or developing entrepreneurial ventures through training, mentoring, business partnerships, and collaboration opportunities with Italian and American companies.
For the second year, Women&Tech® ETS is among the partners of the Project.
The AWE program
AWE collaborates with the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University (ASU) and the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation, which provides participants with the DreamBuilder platform offering online courses that teach the skills and knowledge necessary to start or grow entrepreneurial ventures.
The online "DreamBuilder" sessions will be complemented by in-person training activities that include mentorship sessions, pitch competitions, guest speaker talks, collaborations with incubators, and networking events with U.S. Exchange Alumni and business leaders.
At the end of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs, each participant who has successfully completed the course will receive a certificate of participation and will become part of the US Exchange alumni network.
Who is the AWE aimed at?
The program for aspiring entrepreneurs or already established entrepreneurs with no age limits. Specifically, university students, recent graduates, and/or professionals who aspire to start a business, women with newly created businesses or already established businesses with an advanced business plan but either insufficient resources or the need for internationalization and networking, immigrants or refugees residing in Italy with limited socioeconomic resources, or candidates whose project involves immigrant or refugee entrepreneurs.
Applications 2025
Applications are open for participation in the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE). The deadline for submitting applications is set for Monday, February 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM.
