Vicepresidente della Commissione per l'Industria, la Ricerca e l'Energia al Parlamento Europeo
Patrizia Toia ha lavorato come Direttore del Servizio di Pianificazione della Regione Lombardia. È stata Consigliere regionale, Membro della Camera dei Deputati e del Senato italiano, Sottosegretario di Stato agli Affari Esteri e Ministro degli Affari Europei e dei Rapporti con il Parlamento.
Nel 2004 è stata eletta al Parlamento europeo. Membro del gruppo S&D, è vicepresidente del comitato ITRE.
Patrizia Toia è nata a Pogliano Milanese (Milano); è laureata in Scienze Politiche presso l'Università degli Studi di Milano. È stata assessore regionale in Lombardia, con diverse responsabilità (Sanità, Bilancio)
È stata membro della Camera dei Deputati e nel 1996 è stata eletta al Senato della Repubblica. Ha ricoperto diversi incarichi istituzionali: Sottosegretario di Stato agli Affari Esteri con delega per America Latina, Asia e Oceania, Relazioni con le Nazioni Unite, Diritti Umani, Migrazioni e Italiani all'estero, nel 1999 è nominata Ministro per gli Affari Europei e Ministro per i Rapporti con Parlamento.
Nel 2004 è stata eletta al Parlamento Europeo, confermata nel 2009, 2014 e 2019, Membro del Gruppo dell'Alleanza Progressista di Socialisti e Democratici (S&D), è Vicepresidente della Commissione Industria, Ricerca ed Energia. È anche membro supplente della Commissione per lo Sviluppo e della Commissione per i Trasporti.

In 2004 she was elected at the European Parliament. Member of the S&D Group, she is Vice-Chair of the ITRE Committee.
Patrizia Toia was born in Pogliano Milanese (Milan); she is graduated in Political Science at the University of Milan. She worked as Director of the Planning Service at Lombardy Region. She was regional councillor in Lombardy, with different responsibilities (Health, Budget)
She was Member of the Chamber of Deputies and in 1996 she was elected at the Senate of the Republic. She held various institutional positions: Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs with responsibility for Latin America, Asia and Oceania, Relations with the United Nations, Human Rights, Migration and Italians abroad, in 1999 she was appointed Minister for European Affairs and Minister for Relations with Parliament.
In 2004 she was elected at the European Parliament, confirmed in 2009, 2014 and 2019 Member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S & D), she is Vice-Chair of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. She is also substitute member of the Committee on Development and in Committee on Transport.
