Michela Milano is full professor of Artificial Intelligence at University of Bologna and Chair of the Interdipartimental Center of Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence involving 28 Departments and more than 400 researchers.
She is Editor in Chief of the Constraints Journal, Member of the Editorial Board of ACM Computing Surveys for the area of Artificial Intelligence, past Area Editor of INFORMS Journal on Computing in the area Logic, Constraint and Optimization. She has edited two collections on hybrid optimization and she is author of more than 170 papers on peer reviewed international conferences and journals. On these topics Michela Milano has given many tutorials and keynote talks in in the major international conferences on Artificial Intelligence, like IJCAI, ICAPS, CPAIOR e CP.
She is past Deputy President of the European Association of Artificial Intelligence (EurAI) and past Executive Councilor of the Association for the Advancements of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). She has been a member of the expert group of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development for the definition of the Italian Strategy of AI and member of the working group defining the National Research Plan 2021-2027.
She participated to many EU projects and many collaborations with industries. She coordinated the EU project FP7 ePolicy, Engineering the Policy Making Life Cycle, 2011-2014, she has been partner of FP7 COLOMBO, Cooperative Self-Organizing System for low Carbon Mobility at low Penetration Rates, 2012-2015, EU-FP7 DAREED: Decision Advisor for Energy Efficient Districts, 2013-2016 EU-H2020-FETProactive OPRECOMP: Open transprecision computing, 2017-2020, EU-H2020 AI4EU: a European AI-on-Demand platform and Ecosystem, 2019-2021, and of the Network of Excellence EU-H2020 TAILOR and HumaneAINet e coordinates the H2020-StairwAI, as a follow up of the AI-on-demand platform.
