Elsa Catalano is an italian lawyer expert in data protection. She is Group Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Engineering Ingegneria Informatica Group, overseeing the protection of personal data in Italy, Europe and in the other countries of company’s group presence. Prior to joining Engineering, Elsa worked as Global Privacy Manager at Eni Group, where she led Privacy Compliance Program and outreach activities. She has focused for more than 15 years on compliance topics and specialized on data protection, privacy and cybersecurity issues. She advises Italian and foreign clients, assists and directs the company in innovative development projects related to the application of new technologies and the use of artificial intelligence in many business sectors from energy to health, in public and private segment.
Elsa graduated in Law at the University La Sapienza-Rome and obtained a Master in Tax Law at University Luiss Guido Carli (Rome), since the beginning of her career she worked in the fields of compliance assisting many of the major players in the energy industry by providing day-to-day legal advice and representing their interests before Italian Authorities.
Elsa’s expertise also includes consumer protection and Legislative Decree 231/01, analyzing the regulatory framework in those specific areas, or assessing the risks stemming from a specific commercial strategy, clients of Engineering can always count on Elsa’s innovative thinking and deep understanding of the law.
