Professoressa in Zootecnica Speciale dell'Università di Foggia
Nata a Foggia il 27/01/1975, ha conseguito la laurea in Scienze Biologiche presso l’Università degli Studi di Bari, con la votazione di centodieci su centodieci e lode. Ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Ecosistemi Agricoli Sostenibili. È attualmente in servizio presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Agrarie, Alimenti, Risorse Naturali e Ingegneria dell’Università di Foggia in qualità di Professore Associato in Zootecnica Speciale. É Delegata del Rettore dell’Università di Foggia per il Placement e coordinatore del Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Scienze e Tecnologie Agrarie dell’Università di Foggia.
Si occupa delle tematiche del benessere animale negli ovini rivolgendo particolare attenzione alle alterazioni dei meccanismi fisiologici, endocrini ed immunologici, soprattutto in condizione di stress termico, ed alle loro ripercussioni sulla qualità delle produzioni zootecniche. I lavori scientifici di cui è autore dal 2002 sono 244, di cui 118 su riviste referizzate ed internazionali e 9 capitoli di libri scientifici.
Ha rapporti di collaborazione scientifica con l’INRA, con il Morendun Research Institute, l’University of Thessaly, con l’EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), Michigan State University, Virginia Tech, United States.
É socio ordinario dell’Associazione per la Scienza e le Produzioni Animali (Aspa), della Società Italiana delle Scienze Veterinarie (S.I.S.Vet.), e socio fondatore della Rete Nazionale id Immunologia Veterinaria (RNIV), nell’ambito della quale è stata anche tesoriere.
È referee per numerose riviste internazionali oltre che per il National Center of Science and Technology Evaluation, Ministry of Education and Science della Republic of Kazakhstan, Esperto esterno per la valutazione delle COST Action, referee ANVUR nominata dal GEV07 per la VQR 2004-2010 e 2011-2014, esperto nominato per la valutazione delle proposte in base al work programme H2020- Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy.
È componente dell'Editorial Board delle riviste internazionali: Journal of Buffalo Science, Dairy, Animals, Frontiers in Veterinary Science. È ed è stata componente di unità operative e coordinatore per lo svolgimento di circa 40 programmi di ricerca scientifica, e relatore a numerosi Congressi Nazionali ed internazionali.
Mariangela Caroprese was born in Foggia on 27/01/1975, graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Bari, with a full score, and obtained a PhD in Sustainable Agricultural Ecosystems. She is currently Associate Professor in Animal Science at the Department of Agriculture, Food, Natural Resources, and Engineering of the University of Foggia. She is Delegate of the Rector of the University of Foggia for Placement and coordinator of the MSc in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies of the University of Foggia.
She deals with the issues of sheep welfare considering the alterations of physiological, endocrine and immunological mechanisms, especially in conditions of thermal stress, and to their repercussions on the quality of livestock production. She has authored since 2002 are 244 manuscripts, of which 118 in referenced and international journals and 9 chapters of scientific books.
She has scientific collaboration relationships with INRA, with the Morendun Research Institute, the University of Thessaly, with the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), Michigan State University, Virginia Tech, United States.
She is an ordinary member of the Association for Animal Science and Production (Aspa), of the Italian Society of Veterinary Sciences (SISVet.), and founding member of the National Veterinary Immunology Network (RNIV), within which she was also treasurer.
