About Women&Technologies® (2008-2015)

The international Women&Technologies® (2008-2015) conference offers a vision of the relationship between women and technology that, rather than focusing on issues of gender, serves as an instrument to identify and enhance brilliance in research, technological development and innovation; particularly in relation to the topics most relevant to the Expo 2015.
The conference was founded and chaired by Gianna Martinengo, who has dedicated her life as a researcher and entrepreneur to the relationship between women and technology.
The first edition of the international Women&Technologies® (2008-2015) conference was hosted by the prestigious IFIP World Computer Congress, which took place in Italy for the first time on 7-10th September 2008.
An integral part of the conference was the international Le Tecnovisionarie®” award, conferred by a qualified judging panel to women who proved able to “invent the future” through new technologies.
The second edition will take place on 9th November 2009 at the “Leonardo da Vinci” National Museum of Science and Technology”, with which a partnership agreement was signed to allow for future editions to benefit from more extensive opportunities to consolidate collaborations and programmes.
Women&Technologies® (2008-2015) is also a permanent laboratory for ideas and discussion, which pursues its activities year-round thanks to the www.womentech.info portal, Web 2.0 channels, and a series of public meetings and events.
