Women&Technologies®, towards the 2010 edition
“Women&Technologies®” enters its third year of official activity, and points to the third international conference that will take place next autumn.
During the months following the conference of 9th November 2009, which registered over 1,500 people (attending the hall and connected online), the main activity of “Women&Technologies® 2008-2015” has continued apace: it has confirmed its position as a physical and virtual workshop devoted to men and women who – regardless of their profession or sector of activity – think, work and live according to a philosophy that focuses on skills, merit and diversity.
People who can, and should, give an original contribution to technological innovation, and – perhaps more importantly – to the development of society, integrating into an holistic vision that is no longer dominated by issues of gender.
The network of professionals, experts or simply curious of “our” themes is steadily increasing thanks to groups focused on major social networks (there are six active discussion groups, with over 1,040 members, are present on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Ning and YouTube, since January 1 2010).
Moreover, every day, in the area blog, posts are inserted to learn, explore and comment on news topics.
An active role is also being played by the Donne e Tecnologie Association (which is included in the public Lombardy regional register of associations, movements and organisations). By joining, you can give a small but important contribution to the pursuit of its statutory goals.
All of the above activities combine to create that “bottom-up” workshop or agora in which people can share ideas, observations and proposals relating to the issues of the 2010 conference and award.
Finally, the “front page” section of the website provides news on the upcoming events linked to “Women&Technologies®”, and allows users to access the press review. Alternatively, by entering the 2008 and 2009 sections of the portal, visitors can gather in-depth information relating to the contents of the conference’s previous editions.
