Graduated in Biological Sicences, with a PhD in Medical Microbiology at the University of Milan, Daniela did her postdoc work at the Rockefeller University, NY. She has a long and documented experience in R&D of new antiinfectives, matured in Pharma and Biotech Companies. Prior to covering the position of VP, Medical Microbiology at Biosearch Italia/Vicuron, she worked at the Nerviano Research Center (Pharmacia Corp) contributing to the discovery and characterization of several new antibiotics. In 2005 she founded NeED Pharmaceuticals, where she is currently CEO. In 2007 she founded NAICONS (New AntiInfectives CONSortium), where she serves as President. NAICONS is an independent organisation with the mission to re-establish R&D activities in the anti-infective field in Italy. In 2008 she co-founded NexThera Bioscences, a Pharma company focusing on the development of anti-infectives. Daniela is author or co-author of more than 80 scientific publications and co-inventor of 17 patents.
