After obtaining a degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Bologna, Alberto Guidotti began his professional career in the Credito Emiliano bank, initially in the organisation and systems division and later in the commercial network area. He then moved on to management consulting, working first for Accenture and later joining Bain & Company, where he continued his career in financial services, with a particular focus on ICT strategy at the European level.
In 2005, he entered San Paolo IMI as head of the ICT vision office, managing ICT strategies along with all technologically-oriented innovation projects. He won the Cerchio d’Oro dell’Innovazione [Golden Innovation Ring] award for the best Italian financial innovation project in the retail area with the Turin Hi-tech branch. He is currently Head of the ICT Research & Development Office of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, whose mission includes the analysis of strategic ICT guidelines, the study and creation of innovative banking prototypes, the monitoring of evolutionary trends, ICT benchmarking and the management of internal communications relating to innovation (newsletter, knowledge base and web community).
He is also the Director of the Laboratory for Applied Research on Banking Technology at the ISMB of Turin and is a lecturer at the Politecnico of Turin (Informatics Faculty) for the Strategy and Innovation course.
