Claudia Sorlini is a professor of Microbiology in the Agricultural Biotechnology Faculty of the University of Milan.
She is the co-ordinator of the PhD in “Chemistry, Biochemistry and Ecology of Pesticides”.
Her main research interests include: biotechnologies applied to the environment; study on the biodegradability of organic compounds; microbial population studies and natural and artificial eco-system monitoring; microorganisms role in the biodeterioration and recovery of works of art.
She has authored over 200 papers on the above mentioned topics.
She is a Member of the National Committee of Stone Cultural Heritage (Normal), an official organ of the Cultural Heritage Ministry, and editor in chief of the international “Annals of Microbiology” journal.
She has coordinated various national and international EU research projects and is a member of the Technical-Scientific Committee of the Agriculture and Forestry Ministry (from 2002).
