She is the Secretary-General of the Italian-speaking Broadcasting Community.

She has always had an interest in social issues, focusing particularly on those related to matters of gender and female empowerment in the media. In 2000, she participated in the drafting of the “Charter on Equal Opportunities in Broadcasting” in Stockholm, alongside the main television broadcasters in Europe. She participated in the transnational “Mass media and the redistribution of power” project. She was a consultant for the Employment Ministry’s Gender news good news project and participated in the Italian GMMP (Global Media Monitoring Project) group, organised and promoted by the Women Program of the World Association for Christian Communication with the aim of documenting the nature of female representation in the media. She is President of COPEAM’s (Permanent Conference of Mediterranean Audiovisual Operators) “Mediterranean Women” group.

She is a member of the Scientific Committee for the Baskerville award, named after Mauro Wolf. She has written numerous scholarly articles and research papers, paying particular attention to the viewer’s perspective and to the social role of the media in relation to the mission of the public broadcasting service.

Her written works include: “On the viewer’s side”, “One, none…to one hundred thousand. The representation of women on television”, “9/11: new media in emergencies” and “A happy anomaly”.
