President: Maria Giovanna Sami, Professor of Computer Architectures, Politecnico of Milan, and Member of the National Academy of Sciences XL.

Mode of communication: email, videoconference.

Role: each year, it decides the Conference’s mission and entrusts the presidency (chair) to one person whose task it is to form the Programme Committee (choose members) and present a draft programme to the Strategic Committee. The Strategic Committee either approves it or requests changes. It represents the “Parliament” of the initiative.

The post lasts for two years; an “Elect President” is chosen after the first year to facilitate the handover of power. The “Past President” can remain associated with the Strategic Committee so as to aid in the organisation of the following conference.

The Strategic Committee will become operational by the 2010 edition. Its composition will be finalised by the 2009 edition, when the first Committee meeting is scheduled to occur.

President: Fiorella Operto, Founder and President of the School of Robotics of Genoa.

Role: It represents the conference’s executive.

It is chaired by a different person each year. It receives a mandate from the Strategic Committee. The President selects the other members of the Programme Committee.

The Committee chooses speakers and panelists, along with the activities surrounding the conference (workshops, demos, posters, transcripts, contests, events, awards). 

Role: Through careful planning, it oversees all organisational (logistics and services), management (human resources, administration and accounting) and support (pre- and post-event communication, promotion, dissemination, media visibility) functions.
